Chapter 12

“Lu Sheng, why did you lose so much weight?”

Inside the changing room, Lu Sheng and Liu Qiming were changing into the martial arts uniforms required for the practical combat class.

As Lu Sheng took off his outer clothes and pants, he revealed a physique with sleek, leopard-like lines and well-defined muscles. However, he appeared slightly thinner, a result of his blood value increasing too rapidly, and nutritional supplements not keeping up.

“My hair needs a trim…”

Lu Sheng looked at his own face in the mirror—an image that was both familiar and unfamiliar.

Lean, handsome, and in his deep, pitch-black eyes occasionally flashed sharp glints like knives.

Even when he stood there calmly, he gave off an inexplicable sense of intimidation.

It made people’s hearts palpitate, as if encountering wild beasts like tigers or leopards in the wilderness.

This was the result of the rapid increase in blood values and the absorption of a large amount of dream memories, something Lu Sheng hadn’t noticed before.

“I’ve grown a bit taller too…”

Lu Sheng put on the martial arts uniform, looking at the sleeves and pant legs that seemed a bit short now, silently pondering.

His height used to be 175 centimeters, but during this period of cultivation, it had surged to almost 180 centimeters. The martial arts uniform that originally fit him well now seemed small.

After changing clothes, Lu Sheng and Liu Qiming walked into the martial arts hall together.

The entire martial arts hall was large, divided into padded areas serving as individual practice classrooms. More than one class was scheduled for this time slot, and Lu Sheng and Liu Qiming quickly found their class area, walking over.

All the students sat in a circle around the practice area, and a middle-aged man with a sturdy build, muscles straining against the loose martial arts uniform, stood in the center.

“In this practical combat class, we will consolidate what I’ve previously taught you—the fundamentals of combat techniques…”

The practical combat class teacher was named Zhong Zhenguo, a certified second-level martial artist who had supposedly been to battle and faced off against exotic beasts. The massive scar deliberately revealed on his right arm was the best evidence of this, and it was also his source of pride. He had boasted about it more than once during class.

Zhong Zhenguo began explaining various combat techniques to the students, and he called a male student to come up and serve as his practice partner.

In Lu Sheng’s eyes, the combat techniques Zhong Zhenguo taught were simple and superficial. He had absorbed much more advanced techniques from dream memories.

“Every time he calls Yang Yifei up there, can’t he give ordinary people a chance? Dammit!”

Lu Sheng suddenly heard Liu Qiming’s sour complaint.

Only then did he notice the male student summoned by Zhong Zhenguo for practicing.

The student’s name was Yang Yifei. He came from a well-off family, excelled in martial arts, and, coupled with his handsome appearance, enjoyed a certain level of popularity even in school.

Now, wearing a vibrant martial arts uniform and gracefully sparring with Zhong Zhenguo, Yang Yifei caught the eyes of the girls below, who couldn’t help but swoon.

“Even if you had a chance, you wouldn’t be able to catch it. Even if he held back, not everyone can withstand a punch from Teacher Zhong.”

Lu Sheng glanced at Liu Qiming and said calmly.

Liu Qiming blushed, muttering, “It’s just because Yang Yifei comes from a well-off family, treating various tonics as daily meals. I heard his blood values are almost 1.2…”

Liu Qiming’s disgruntled appearance seemed as if, under the same circumstances as Yang Yifei, he could perform even better.

Lu Sheng didn’t bother talking to him any further, just calmly watched Zhong Zhenguo and Yang Yifei’s demonstration.

Though he appeared to be listening carefully , Lu Sheng’s mind was already contemplating how to approach the topic of the scholarship with the teacher and when would be the right time…

“Alright, the demonstration is almost over. Next, I’ll invite two students to come up for practical combat, and I’ll provide individual guidance.”

After finishing the demonstration, Zhong Zhenguo casually beckoned to Yang Yifei, “Yang Yifei, you don’t need to go down; find another student to practice with.”

“Yes, Teacher.”

Yang Yifei remained composed, as if he had long been accustomed to such special treatment.

“Is there any student willing to come up and spar with Yang Yifei?”

Zhong Zhenguo asked loudly, scanning the students below. The students, however, were avoiding his gaze, reluctant to step forward.

“No one?!”

A slight frown appeared on Zhong Zhenguo’s forehead, showing some displeasure.

Every time they talked about practical combat exercises, the students would shrink away like ostriches, burying their heads in the ground. How could he teach in such a situation?

Many people privately complained that he favored the top students in the class.

However, these people failed to realize that, in each of these situations, aside from exceptional students like Yang Yifei, how many dared to step forward and accept his guidance?

Many liked to complain about a lack of opportunities, but they rarely considered that, with each withdrawal, opportunities silently slipped away.

Zhong Zhenguo’s gaze swept over the students, and his disappointment gradually grew.

Just as he was about to randomly pick someone to come up, his eyes unexpectedly met a pair of deep, pitch-black eyes.

“Hmm?!”

Zhong Zhenguo’s eyes lit up, focusing on a student with calm eyes and a slender figure.

Amidst the crowd avoiding his gaze, suddenly there was someone who dared to meet his eyes—a student who stood out conspicuously.

Okay, you over there. Yes you. Come up and spar with Yang Yifei.”

Zhong Zhenguo pointed at the distinctive student and announced loudly.

“Lu Sheng, Teacher Zhong is calling you…”

“Hmm?!”

Lu Sheng snapped out of his thoughts, realizing that he had been chosen by Zhong Zhenguo to go up and spar with Yang Yifei.
